Tina Lupo - scultore
Tina Lupo, (1949), frequenta l’ Istituto d’Arte di Bari e l’ Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna . Insegna scultura dal 1970 al 2006. Nel 1974 e 1976 compie due viaggi di studio a New York. Si occupa di scultura nell’ambito di una rilettura contemporanea del mistero iconografico delle grandi e antiche civiltà mediterranee.
Nel 2001, in Campidoglio a Roma in occasione della consegna di una medaglia, Alberto Trivellini scrisse sul Corriere di Roma : “ Davvero, nell’atelier di Tina Lupo si respira una buona aria di novità. Dire una parola uova, in fatto di scultura è il suo impegno, il traguardo più volte raggiunto e superato. La scultrice ha la capacità di presentarci quello che non aspettiamo, chiusi nei nostri antichi e cristallizzati concetti di bellezze e di regole.
Lo fa senza esitare, schierando il suo esercito di statue metalliche, probabilmente sapendo che, prima di cominciare a capire, lo spettatore sarà pervaso da un certo timor panico.
Di regola ciò che è assolutamente nuovo , al prima impatto spaventa. Poi si entra in quella grande armonia che l’Artista ha saputo creare ed è come ascoltare le parole di un discorso tanto sconosciuto quanto avvincente.
Tina Lupo ci offre la possibilità di capire fino a che punto possa arrivare la creatività nel campo dell’arte. Capire l’essenza e seguirla: anche il critico si sente spogliato da argomentazioni tecniche o di merito. Lupo indica altra strada; invita ad uscire dalle abituali corsie, a porgere orecchio a questo inaspettato richiamo.
E’ presente nelle più significative Fiere e rassegne d’Arte Contemporanea, di carattere nazionale ed internazionale. Il suo lavoro è storicizzato in diversi Cataloghi dell’Arte Moderna Italiana, nel Catalogo degli Scultori italiani, e nel volume Oltre Canova editi da Mondadori. Tina Lupo , (1949 ) , attended the Art Institute of Bari and the Art Accadem in Bologna. She taught sculpture from 1970 to 2006. In 1974 and 1976 she made two trips to New York for her studies. She deals with sculpture in the field of the contemporary re-reading of the iconographic mystery of the great ancient Mediterrenean civilizations. In 2001 on the occasion of a medal assignment at the Campidoglio in Rome, Alberto Trivellini wrote on the Corriere newspaper of Rome:“ In Tina Lupo’s studio you really breath a good fresh air of novelty. Her goal is that of contributing with a new word in sculpture, a goal which was not only accomplished but also overcome. The sculptress has the ability of presenting us the unexpected, while we are stuck in our ancient and crystallised concepts of beauty and in our rules. She does it without hesitating, linin up her army of metallic statues, probabl conscious of the fact that the spectator will be pervaded by a tremor of panic and fear before starting to understand. Normally there is always a feeling of fear at first of the unknown. Then you start entering that sense of harmony that the artist was able to create and it is like listening to the words of an unknown yet compelling speech. Tina Lupo gives us the opportunity of understanding up to what point creativity can arrive in the field of art. Understanding the essence and following it: even the critic feels left out, without technical argumentation or any other based on merit. Lupo offers a new direction, inviting us to come out of our shell and listen to this unexpected call.
