Tina Lupo is a painter, sculptor, and jewelry designer born in Genzano di Lucania, a town in the province of Potenza. Her skills are rooted in her formal studies: she attended the Art Institute of Bari and then enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. In her early twenties, she obtained a sculpture teaching position, a role she held from 1970 to 2006. Her work has been featured in numerous art exhibitions, earning her significant national and international accolades. Some of her piecés are part of permanent collections at the Open-Air Museum of Contemporary Sculptures in Riccione and the Stamp Museum in Jesolo (Venice). Tina Lupo's work is distinguished by a visual language designed to conceal • alchemical truths behind each depicted subject; her approach is hermeneutic, arcane, prophetic, animated by transcendent forces aimed at communicating invisible truths. For this reason, geometric shapes often serve as the foundation of her representations, carrying deep and symbolic meanings, such as the triangle, associated with concepts of stability and harmony. In her paintings, the human being is almost transfigured into a spiritual entity, thus revealing its dual nature—formed of flesh yet guided by thought.

This bond between body and spirit is central and historically evident in various cultures, including Egyptian, Greek, and Christian traditions. The dialogue between sea and sky is another essential theme in Lupo's work, as seen in her totemic sculptures of deities and nymphs. In her piece "Semi in azione", she presents a large golden seed radiating life amidst the chaos of a stormy sea. This element of birth, an alchemical symbol of transformation, illuminates the surrounding waves with its intense, crystalline light. The waves, marked by small circular strokes, suggest a frantic, turbulent motion, emphasizing instability, while the great foam wave rising at the composition's edge represents the climax of this tumultuous energy, symbolizing the strength and power of impending change.
